Consider/Approve Central Cafeteria Bread Bid for the 2011 – 2012 School Year

Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of bread (specifications attached) for the 2011 – 2012 school year. We received bids for these purchases as follows:

Sara Lee Bakery – $34,508.33
Interstate Brands – $27,928.00

Funds for these purchases will be budgeted in the FY12 Central Cafeteria Fund budget. After the bids were opened, Ms. Judy Denman recommends Interstate Brands for bread purchases for the 2011 – 2012 school year.

Staff Recommendation:

I concur with the recommendation set forth by Ms. Judy Denman and recommend approval of the bid as submitted by Interstate Brands. With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2011.
